Did you know that Nederland, Colorado is about to have one of the most beautiful, handmade carousels in the world?! Artist Scott Harrison has spent the last quarter century carving animals from peacocks to zebras and finally this dream of a carousel will be realized at the grand opening Memorial Day weekend. Sat., Apr. 16, 11AM - 2PM WILD OKAPI MARIMBA BAND at Wild Earth Saturday, a FREE event produced by Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center and the National Center for Atmospheric Research, kicking off Earth Day/Week. There are science exhibits for kids of all ages, music and games, exhibits from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, free bike tune up (if you ride your bike), raptor exhibits, climbing wall, alternative energy exhibits, and much more.
